Alternatives to Google and Facebook

Facebook keeps growing while strangely abusing their users data to horrendous

Its bound to happen with free services online - profits come way ahead of your data security.
Unbelievable - most are still using simplistic passwords
Research found that out of 96k passwords only a small amount, 26k, had used unique passwords. This means that out of the test group >70% had simple easy to guess passwords.
This leaves victims open to all types of abuse such as: cloned ID
(both online and real),
fraud, coercion, bribery, etc. Read more:

Anything you write in a forum or chatroom, etc. will eventually become compromised as Microsoft has demonstrated recently.
TIP: Never give real passwords in ANY forum (support or otherwise), if
they really need a password then change it to a temporary one first then change
it back once your support issue is closed.
