Shared web hosting means the resources of a server are shared between many different separate websites. Each website uses some of the computers resources, and are limited to the amount of webspace and bandwidth they are allowed to consume.

We provide both shared Windows hosting and shared Linux hosting.

Security - websites on a shared server

If the servers are configured correctly then security will not be an issue. We DO NOT allow telnet/shell access (or SSH) on our shared servers. Beware some budget hosts do!
Allowing shell access opens a shared server to abuse by unscrupulous users on that server. Never host an important website on a shared server where shell access is allowed: all files could be compromised.

Where shell access is required then consider a dedicated server.
